On Tuesday, Otafire claimed that he is in possession of the land title and tasked Khan to prove otherwise that he actually has receipts of ground rent for the property since he claims to be a Kibanja owner.
Isaiah Sasaga, the Budadiri East MP, a member of the committee, says that some of the appointees had missing documents. He says that others had varying names on their Ordinary and Advanced level certificates.
The others approved on Tuesday are Ruth Nankabirwa, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, Vincent Ssempijja Bamulangaki, the Minister of Defense and Veteran Affairs, Betty Amongi Ongom, the Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development and others.
Those who were confirmed on Tuesday by the committee chaired by Deputy Speaker Anita Among are Chris Baryomunsi, the Minister of Information, Communications, Technology and National Guidance, Frank Tumwebaze, the Minister for Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries, Maria Goretti Kitutu, the Minister for Karamoja Affairs.
Although MPs have not yet been allocated office space, only about of those who were in the 10th Parliament have retained their offices, while over 350 MPs are waiting for parliamentary processes to take shape.
“The number of full cabinet Ministers now stands at 14 out of 31 constituting 45.2 percent and the State Ministers are 24 out of 50 making it 48 percent," said UWOPA Chairperson Kamugo.
