Aceng, and Permanent Secretary Diana Atwine had appeared before parliaments COVID-19 task force which is scrutinizing interventions put in place to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic including vaccine procurement, payment of medical workers and health services challenges, among others.
The House Appointments Committee chaired by Deputy Speaker, Anita Among on Tuesday backtracked on its earlier position and approved Kaboyo’s ministerial appointment. A total of 22 legislators from the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party voted in favour of Kaboyo’s approval, 4 Opposition MPs rejected while 1 abstained.
Lillian Aber, the Kitgum Woman MP asked Government to negotiate with Telecoms to waive the withdraw charges so that the beneficiaries receive the entire sum of Shillings 100,000. She also raised complaints about ghost names on the Government list.
