Parliament has adopted a committee recommendation seeking to hold the Minister of State for Housing, Persis Namuganza accountable for abuse of office.
Namuganza is accused of misleading Uganda Land Commission –ULC into allocation of the Nakawa-Naguru land to individuals and entities following Presidential Directives which were non-existent. Even the alleged beneficiaries of the allocations have disowned the purported requests uttered by Namuganza which they are alleged to have made for the land, as forgeries.
According to the Bill presented by Henry Musasizi, the Minister of State for Finance- General Duties, the government proposed an amendment to Section 21 of the principal Act to extend the income tax exemption for Bujagali from 1st July 2022 to 30th June 2027.

And now we have a solution…by the time government accepts that we are going to review within three months, a review in the process can be terminated,” Among added.
Parliament on Tuesday rejected a proposal by Kampala Central Member of Parliament, Muhammad Nsereko to exempt bread wheat and five year old computers from paying Value Added Tax.
