Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee has directed the Ministry of Agriculture to avail comprehensive accountability for 32.2 billion Shillings used to recruit agricultural extension workers in financial year 2017/2018.
Parliament has tasked government to expedite the finalization of the National Irrigation Plan to guide irrigation development in the Agriculture Sector.

According to Museveni, government has already completed designs for six irrigation schemes including Mobuku II, Doho II, Wadelai, Tochi, Rwengaju and Ngenge.
Parliaments Agriculture committee has recommended that government puts in place a legal framework for implementing the Operation Wealth Creation OWC programme. In its report to parliament the committee identified a number of hindrances including a mismatch in priorities, lack of extension services and poor conduct of staff that are preventing the full realisation of the objectives of OWC.
