The UPDF entered Congo a week ago, in pursuit of the Allied Democratic Forces –ADF rebels, many of whom sought refuge in parts of Beni Territory and North Kivu province, in Eastern DRC. The offensive is implemented jointly with the Armed Forces of the DRC.

The first commercial oil production in Uganda is projected to start in 2025, roughly two decades after commercially viable oil deposits were discovered. Once fully developed, the 1,445-kilometre EACOP will transport crude oil from the oil fields in the districts of Buliisa, Hoima, Nwoya, Kikuube to Chongoleani terminal in Tanga at the Indian Ocean coast in Tanzania.

According to Rwabushaija, the objective of the Bill is to reform the law relating to establishment and control of markets in Uganda, provide for the establishment and management of public and private markets, provide for licensing of private markets and others. The other objects of the Bill are to provide for registration of markets and vendors, provide for levying and collection of market fees and to repeal the Markets Act, Cap. 94.

Karamoja MPs Want Parliament Intervention to Curb Increased Cattle Rustling karamoja region 6 1

According to Police records, 150 people have been killed by the warriors and 73 cattle rustlers killed by government forces since November 2020 when raids resumed. 13, 000 heads of cattle were reportedly stolen and 9,000 recovered.
