The suspects were arrested on Saturday in Lujorongole Village armed with clubs, catapult, stones and metal objects. They were reportedly stopping vehicles and searching the occupants, a short distance from where hundreds of people had gathered to send off the mother to Gulu Resident District Commissioner Maj Santos Okot Lapolo.
The affirmation follows a heated debate from which the Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga directed the Human Rights Committee to investigate reports on the presence of Safe Houses in Lwamayuba in Kalangala and Kyengera in Wakiso district. The reports indicate that the safe houses are often used to torture suspects.
