John Wandera was picked on Monday from one of the suburbs of Kampala after he was tracked and trailed by Flying Squad operatives under the commander of Senior Superintendent of Police Godwin Turamye.
Peter Ddamulira, a resident at Mukono appeals to police to change the way they handle suspects. “So many people get arrested but they are not charged. They instead coerced to bribe their way out,” he said.
Fresh information shows that Musoke has 20 pending cases at Old Kampala police station. A police source told URN that the suspect was arrested a few months ago and locked up at Old Kampala following complaints from his victims. However, the source says unnamed soldiers stormed the station and ordered his release.
Agnes Nakamyuka, a resident in the area says that she was told to stop cultivating on her two acres of land. She adds that she was surprised when she saw graders ploughing her land she is compensated.
This follows a protracted outcry by residents from the six villages of Lakang, Bana, Lujoro, Omee, Lwak Obito and Pailyech in Amuru Sub County, of continued disturbances by livestock herded by the pastoralists in the area.
