Gulu LCV Chairperson Martin Ojara Mapenduzi described Late Lapolo as a great man and a true patriot who cherished unity and prioritized the security of the Acholi people.
A security source said some of the major divisions have been given 10 motorcycles which will be used by standby teams established at each division. Other divisions, according to the source, have received at least five motorcycles.

The impounded fishing gears were kept for 4 years at Mwenna Fish Processing Plant, the main base of FPU operations in Kalangala Town Council. Fishermen have over the years petitioned FPU to return their impounded gears.
