Prince Nakinbinge says for someone to possess a Muslim or Arabic name doesn’t automatically mean that they are Muslim. He referred to history where former rebels making up the ruling government adopted Muslim names during their bush times. The president himself has publically said that he was called Kassim.
The suspect in custody is identified as Mathias Ssengoma, 17, who with others still at large allegedly committed the crime early this month at a farm in Gentebe village, Nsoga parish, Mijwala sub-county.
The conflict stems from an application to the Amuru District Land Board by the administrators of estates of late Yasoni Ojwang on 7 May 2021 for grant of freehold tenure of land measuring 1,353.7 hectares (5.2 square miles) in Langeta village, Pawel parish in Opara Sub-County.
