Rev. Chorey described his consecration as a memorable occasion that Christians will cherish in the Karamoja sub-region. He expressed his gratitude to the House of Bishops and the nomination committee for entrusting him with the leadership of the diocese. Despite acknowledging the leadership challenges ahead, Rev. Chorey is confident that with God's guidance, he will successfully lead the diocese.
According to the Provincial Secretary, Rev. Can. William Ongeng, Rev. Ven. Chorey will be consecrated and enthroned as the 5th Bishop on 25th August 2024 at St Phillip's Cathedral, Moroto Municipality, replacing Rt Rev Joseph Abura who has been the Bishop since May 27, 2007.
The two priests ordained are Rev Deacon Paul Kiyonga of Moroto and Rev Deacon Nicholas Iwala from Nabilatuk district. Bishop Guzzetti also consecrated Francis Opio, Moses Sagal, Anjello Illukol, and Joshua Gidongo to the order of diaconate.
