During the ordination, Archbishop Odama expressed worries over the rising insecurity and rights abuses in the Karamoja regions and parts of East Acholi.
The nine deacons set to be ordained as priests are Denis Opoka from Christ the King Kitgum Parish, Boniface Ochola from Padibe Parish, Joel Okot from Holy Rosary Parish, Paul Obwoya from Lacor Parish, Raymond Okot from Gulu Cathedral Parish, Michael Odong Zidane from Lukome Parish, Walter Ochora from Omiya Anyima, and Denis Idro Kenyi from Gulu Cathedral.
The Archbishop who was preaching to hundreds of believers at Holy Rosary Church in Gulu on Sunday also decried the rising cases of violence, fraud, and corruption among government leaders. He specifically pointed out the diversion of nearly 10,000 iron sheets meant for the Karamoja region by ministers.
