Richard Ekwan, the health educator at Uganda Cancer Institute extends the blame to ignorance about cancer that propels many of its victims to spend money and time in shrines accusing their relatives, friends and neighbors of bewitching them.
Citing Kisowera parish in Nama sub-county, Mukono district, Ssebaggala, said that the illegal settlers started destroying and stealing church property including the two acres of eucalyptus trees which they cut and sold. He said that the squatters have also started selling off plots of land and erecting buildings on the land.
Elder Mubiru says that such statements from the IGP during this critical campaign time spread hate and may cause violence towards the rest of the journalists which will not be good for the profession.
