Last month, herdsmen killed the Crested Crane in Moruita Sub County in Nakapiripirit district. The Crane was believed to be from Matheniko- Bokora Corridor that stretches from Moroto, Napak, Nakapiripirit, Nabilatuk, Amudat and parts of Teso.
The UWA Deputy Director Community Conservation, George Owoyesigire argued that even when the mandate of breeding endangered species is with Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Centre, UWEC, other centres can also be established in the country.
This conflict came a year before the date that was recommended by a feasibility study into the possible relocation of the rhinos onto national parks, meaning the government, through UWA have to find quick solutions to their survival.
