The projects being funded by a 75-million Euro loan are expected to kick off by mid-2025. They are funded by the French in support of the European Union.
Mariam Nampeera Mbowa, TotalEnergies Uganda Deputy General Manager said the support towards solar energy would help Uganda to not only improve livelihoods but also help to offset the carbon footprint.
The project will tackle issues like child labour in agricultural sectors, employees' contractual rights, and other areas, with suitable interventions identified by the Ministry of Gender.
