According to Ayena, the camps became soft targets for LRA rebels who were looking for livelihood and weapons. After forcing people from their villages into concentrated camps were the LRA previously derived food and other necessity, the only gateway to such livelihood including food became attacking the military rings around the camps, Ayena said.
David Moses Okello, the Gulu Action Aid Cluster Manager, says they firmly support the continued stay of the displaced persons in United Nations Compound if their plight is not properly addressed.
The truck spilled several strips of the palm poles onto the bridge as it plunged into the waterfalls, about 7.5 Meters deep. It is still unclear how many people were inside the ill-fated truck at the time of the accident.
