Patricia Amito Leah, the ARPE Community Programs Officer told the community and local leaders along River Aswa in Paibona Sub County on Thursday evening that their technicians would start testing the dam’s 4x10.25 megawatts turbine electricity generating capacity on Friday evening.
Alfred Okwonga, the Mayor Gulu City reveals that the low revenue collection is due to leakages in the collection process. Okwonya noted that at Layibi Market in Bardege- Layibi Division where there are over 100 vendors, the contractor only remits Shillings 300,000 monthly to the City Council implying that he collects only Shillings 10,000 a day from only about 10 vendors.
Acholi District Khadi, Sheikh Musa Khalil pointed out that Uganda is not safe anymore with health centers filled up with COVID-19 patients, insufficient finance to fight the disease and lack of enough oxygen for those in critical condition. He expressed concern about the surging number of cases being registered in schools and the community.
