With a population of 92 million, a nominal GDP of 46 billion dollars and a border with the Atlantic Ocean, the DRC has recently become Uganda’s number one export destination, worth almost 500 million dollars, which is double the value of goods the country current exports to either Kenya or South Sudan, her erstwhile largest markets.
The suspect in custody is identified as Mathias Ssengoma, 17, who with others still at large allegedly committed the crime early this month at a farm in Gentebe village, Nsoga parish, Mijwala sub-county.
The conflict stems from an application to the Amuru District Land Board by the administrators of estates of late Yasoni Ojwang on 7 May 2021 for grant of freehold tenure of land measuring 1,353.7 hectares (5.2 square miles) in Langeta village, Pawel parish in Opara Sub-County.
