Robert Mugabe, the returning officer for Kawempe division, Ivan Munanura returning officer Makindye division and Doreen Musiime returning officer Kampala Central division said several bribes have been given to presiding officers to alter results after they have been declared at polling stations.
"The temporary shutdown of the internet was a necessary step to stop the vitriolic language and incitement to violence. It is noteworthy that despite efforts by internal and external actors to promote violence, the Government of Uganda has been able to preserve peace,” Kutesa said.
Security has since deployed at his home in Magere, Wakiso district to allegedly prevent unrest in the country. Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga said earlier that Robert Kyagulanyi was placed under “preventive arrest” because he planned to disrupt public order since he and his party, the National Unity Platform have alleged fraud in polls held a week ago.
