In a petition filed at Masaka High Court Registry, Ponsiono Balikka Matovu who contested as an independent candidate says the elections conducted on January 27th 2021, were marred with inconsistencies that affected the overall results and the integrity of the process.

According to the official results released by Electoral Commission Nsubuga polled 11,854 votes against Nsambuâ€™s 10,427 votes. Ssentamu came third with 59 votes while Katula trailed the pack with 4 votes.
Fred Ssemanda, the presiding Officer at Kikenene Polling Station in Kiseka Sub County, has been arrested after he was reportedly found illegally possessing 200 ballot papers. Ssemanda also allegedly issued multiple ballot papers to voters.
