Rukutana Wins Controversial Rushenyi NRM Primaries 3 1 Top story

According to Odoi, Rukutana polled 25310 votes (46.27 %) beating his closest rival, Naome Kabasharira who garnered 25290 votes (46.23%). Bob Nahabwe came third with 2270 votes followed by Nicholas Niwahereza with 1229 votes, Norman Beigana Kashereka 350 votes and Elia Bwagara Mwesigwa 256 votes.

On September 15, Dr Odoi hinted that the recount had given Rukutana an edge over Kabasharira with a difference of 20 votes.

According to Kasasira, the suspects were ferried from Sheema, Mitooma districts, Kafunjo, Nyamukana, and Ruhaama, and Kajara. Miria Mirembe, the Ntungamo District NRM Registrar, says there are 6000 registered voters in the municipality but the number suddenly increased to over 50,000 people.
