Kasule who has sued Ruyonga together with the Electoral Commission wants the court to order for a recount of all the votes cast in the Hoima West Division constituency parliamentary race and the cost of the application be paid for.
The other candidates in the race were Dan Kaija of Uganda People’s Congress-UPC who had 315 votes, Rashid Tumusiime of the National Unity Platform who managed 303 votes and Wyclif Tumusiime of the Forum for Democratic Change-FDC who came last with 215 votes.

The Victor, Kaboyo had 11,074 votes at the end of the tally, while Fredrick Alibankoha, the former LCIII Chairperson of Kahoora division in the former Hoima Municipality who also contested for the same seat came third with 1,064 votes. The results were declared by Brian Mugenyi, the Hoima district NRM Registrar last night.
Businge polled 12,877 votes while Wembabazi had 13,934 votes. the other contestant Juliet Kusiima came third with 484 votes, according to the results which were read by Hoima NRM Registrar Brian Mugenyi at Kitara secondary school tally centre.
The Chairperson of the NRM Electoral Commission Dr Tanga Odoi told URN this morning that the elections were halted after sparks of violence between supporters of the area MP Harriet Mugenyi Businge and her main challenger Beatrice Wembabazi.

Hundreds of people welcomed the duo in a procession at Butema trading center about 5km from Hoima town on Monday afternoon. The procession paralysed traffic for close to an Hour on Coronation road when a team of security officers comprising of UPDF soldiers and Anti-riot police blocked Bobi’s convoy from entering the town center.
