Cecilia Ogwal, the Dokolo Woman Member of Parliament said that the matter of absentee Ministers including the leader of Government Business and Chief Whip should be brought to the attention of the President.
Kayondo was competing against Richard Muhumuza, the former Fort Portal Municipality West Division Chairperson and Gombolola Internal Security Officer – GISO. Kayondo garnered 5,830 votes while Muhumuza got 7,903 votes.
Last month, Mabirizi instituted three criminal charges of giving false information, obtaining registration by false pretence and uttering false documents against Kyagulanyi in Wakiso Chief Magistrates Court. In one of the charges, Mabirizi alleges that the names that appear on Kyagulanyi’s O'level certificate are different from those that appear on his A'level certificate.
The losers led by Minister of State for Investment Evelyn Anite who lost the Koboko NRM flag to Dr Charles Ayume said that despite the irregularities in the primaries, they will not challenge the results.

Patrick Waniaye, the Sironko District LC V Chairperson says that although they managed to hold primaries for the election of candidates for parliamentary and LC V Chairperson’s seat last month, they are yet to identify candidates for the position of councilors, LC III Chairpersons and Town Councils among others.
Several candidates who lost primaries in the National Resistance Movement- NRM and those who fell out with the Democratic party had crossed with the tide, to compete for positions under NUP, a new political outfit led by Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu.
