Kalembe who was canvassing for votes in Teso Sub Region on Friday called upon mothers to take part in non-violent protests to demand justice and a free and fair election.
LASPNET Executive Director Sylvia Namubiru says acts of security pose enormous threats to the right to life, freedom from torture, freedom of expression and right to liberty and access to information as guaranteed by the 1995 Constitution of Uganda and that it is unfortunate that security has defended its actions.
The two leaders were arrested on Wednesday during protests that followed the arrest of Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, the National Unity Platform-NUP presidential candidate.
