Although Moroto currently has no fully instituted Commission, Council today suspended the controversial hire of Kotido District Service Commission with immediate effect on grounds that there were vested interests from the district top leadership, who allegedly want the hired commission to perform business according to their interests.
Immediately after receiving the instruments of power, Hashaka asked the Bukwo CAO Swaib Balala to encourage transparency in public service and asked him to start giving information concerning government funded programs and by partners.

Ben Peter Loburo, the LC III chairperson of Iriiri Sub County in Napak district feels that the creation of more constituencies is a burden to a taxpayer. Loburo argues that the idea of the constituency was premised on a plan to draw geographical boundaries on the basis of the tribes in the area.
It targets organized business groups involving women and youths mainly in the informal sector is meant to uplift the economic status of communities by reducing poverty at house-hold level. It’s also aimed at enhancing socio- economic transformation from subsistence to market oriented economy.
