David Mangeni, a resident of Busia district attributed the failure of incumbents to their support for the scrapping of the presidential age limit.

According to Karim, they resorted to using social media platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp and media houses that would offer them airtime to reach out to voters freely. Karim says they don’t want to be part of the team that will spread COVID-19 to the masses.

The residents argue that they have struggled with the poor state of roads in the area, which hinders transportation of their products to the markets.
