Court heard that the accused was caught red-handed having sexual intercourse with the minor on her mother’s bed by the victim’s elder brother. The accused who is the victim’s cousin, is said to be HIV Positive.
Court heard that the accused picked up a quarrel with the deceased on October 20th at around 10pm and that he assaulted the deceased to coma. The deceased was then rushed to Gulu Regional Referral Hospital for treatment where he died on October 22nd, just two days after his admittance.

Agago district registered the highest number with 20 cases followed by Omoro with 14, Gulu 13 and Pader 12 cases. Amuru, Kitgum, Lamwo and Nwoya districts registered 8, 7, 4 and 2 suicide cases respectively.
