The Ag RPC of Aswa noted that at the time of the recruitment, local leaders tend to recommend some criminals from the community whose characters are difficult to tame in the training.
According to him, a total of 20 cases have been referred to his office for mediation in two months since he came to Bududa as RDC with most of the cases unsolved.
The victim was allegedly defiled by Mutebi Serugo Geofrey, aged 26, from Buyindi Village in Mugoye Sub County of Kalangala District on Monday this week. She ran to Bumangi Police post to report Serugo over defilement.
According to a report made by Aldo Otto to the Police at Kalongo Police station, the suspect accused his mother of being against his relationship with his wife.
Otto noted that the suspect became angry on the fateful day leading to the assault after his mother reportedly cursed him if he proceeds with the relationship.
Abraham Tukundane, the Luweero District Police Commander, says they have commenced investigations to establish how the minor ended up in the suspect’s home.
