Several police investigators were seen at Kisota Road Kisaasi-Kyanja junction trying to figure out whether this could have been the exit route used by the assailants. Not even interviews with the residents in the vicinity could help.
Unidentified gunmen opened fire at Katumba’s vehicle registration number H4DF 2138 along Kisaasi-Kisota road killing his daughter, Brenda Nantongo Wamala and driver, Haruna Kayondo.
Gen. Katumba who was at the time headed for his mother in law’s vigil at Najjanankumbi, escaped with gunshot wounds in the shoulders and is currently admitted at Madipal International Hospital.

Isaac Kawonawo, the Wakiso Deputy Resident District Commissioner in Charge of Kiira Municipality told URN at the scene that the assailants shot the unidentified man in the leg and he was rushed to hospital.
The District Police Commander of Katakwi, David Wills Ndaula says they have arrested seven people including six relatives, whose identities he withheld for security reasons. He also noted that 17 animals that were taken by the attackers have been recovered.
