It is alleged that on Sunday night at around 11:30p.m, six suspected thugs armed with pangas, raided the farm and attacked Awori with an intention of disarming her and stealing the cattle from the farm. They allegedly grabbed her but, in self-defence, she discharged a bullet that hit one of the thugs.
The two were hit by stray bullets from an enforcement officer who was part of the team that was impounding numberless motorcycles from the homes of some suspected smugglers in Arivu village. At least four motor vehicles were impounded during the operation mounted by a team of five personnel.
