Wanjala was reportedly shot dead on Sunday night while attempting to resist arrest at Bubango village along Busia-Jinja High way in Bulumbi Sub County. He was accused of smuggling two cartons of baking flour from neighboring Kenya.
Commissioner of Police Fred Enanga identified the victim as Emmanuel Kato who was kidnapped on Saturday morning at around 10:00am, when his mother Nalongo Peace Kyoshaba left him home together with his twin brother Tom Waiswa to go get food items in the market.
Mbaju and 50 other people from different political parties including the National Resistance Movement-NRM party were received on Monday by the former NUP Presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi at the party headquarters in Kamwokya.
Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga has identified the arrested suspects as Vuma Rodgers and Somon Ocugi. Vuma, according to Enanga, is the agent for China-Uganda –Congo company while Ocugi has been storing the victims in Star Guest House at Makerere for days before smuggling them into DRC.
