Opiyo says the suspect then came with a big stick and stone to scare the little girl, held her hand and led her to his house, and only released her when he heard the voice of the girl’s mother who was already looking for her daughter.
Paul Lokol, the LC V Chairperson of Nabilatuk district says that the suspects were starved in the cells. "On Wednesday, I visited some of the youths who were rounded up from Nabilatuk on Monday and were taken to the army barracks. But I found the youth miserable since they had not eaten for two days," he said.
Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, said that
"Our fire prevention and rescue services officers responded on time, fortunately, the fire had been extinguished by other first responders using a nearby fire extinguisher, water, and sand." According to Owoyesigyire, all the passengers escaped unhurt.
