It is reported that Uwimana went to fetch water with Mbabazi at Kabayigalira Swamp, a few kilometers from their home. On their way back, Uwimana allegedly attacked and strangled the girl, later dumping her lifeless body in the nearby swamp.
The incident occurred around 4 a.m. on Monday in Kinogozi Trading Center, Buhimba Sub-County, Kikuube District. According to available information, Kwesiga was playing cards with the suspects when a misunderstanding ensued for reasons that remain unclear.
The deputy Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, said the police were alerted, and officers collected the cartridges, the deceased’s gun, and took the body for a postmortem.
