Ojok was detained on Wednesday 19th after his in-laws charged him with kidnap under Omoro CRB 237/2021. He had gone to his in-laws’ home to convince his wife Christine Aciro to return to his home after she ran away following a misunderstanding between them.
At least 10 people have been killed in land related brawls since the beginning of the year across Pader, Gulu, Lamwo, Amuru, Agago, Kitgum, Nwoya and Omoro districts.
Ezekiel Emitu, the Aswa River Region Police Commander- RPC, says the latest victim of the attacks is 29-year-old Benedict Okumu. He was hit with a blunt object on August 25th, 2019. He succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the attack at St. Mary’s Hospital Lacor on August 31.
