The deceased officer has been identified as constable Kenneth Opio while the injured one is constable Adam Kimungu both attached to Masindi Central Police Station.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson has confirmed the incident saying both the police officer and the suspect have been rushed to the same hospital, Kagadi General hospital, where they are being treated for the injuries they sustained.

A man in Gulu has this morning disarmed a Police officer and shot himself dead. The man has been identified as Paul Munu (30). He shot himself at the United Nation Food and Agricultural Organisation (UNFAO) offices as he reported for duty.
