Kiryandongo District Police Commander Joseph Bakaleke told Uganda Radio Network that the insecurity has mostly affected the areas of Mutunda, Bweyale and Kigumba, where people can hardly walk after 7 p.m. without an attack.
More than 600 households were relocated from the landslide prone area in eastern Uganda and taken to start a new life in Kiryandongo, Midwestern Uganda after the March 2010 disaster which claimed 300 lives, destroyed crops, and buried several houses in Bududa. Each family was allocated 2.5 acres of land, agriculture in-puts and equipment.
Ntairohoki and some residents attempted to erect humps at the Masindi-port trading centre in Kiryandongo district on Monday afternoon. He said he had on several occasions written to the Uganda National Roads Authority-UNRA demanding that humps are erected, in vain.

The accident involved a Gaagaa bus, a trailer and a tractor. Our reporter at the scene says that bodies and survivors are strewn all over the place. Rescue teams headed by the police and ambulance services are now ferrying survivors and dead bodies to nearby health facilities.
Throughout the sunny Saturday, a team of regular police personnel with the help of some locals tried to maneuver the waters especially at the river bank in search of the truck and some possible survivors in vain. They called off their operation at about 6:30pm.
Sinohydro Corporation Limited, a Chinese firm contracted to construct the hydro-power dam has employed about 4,000 staff. Kiryandongo Resident District Commissioner, Lio Ngompek, disclosed that about 1,000 of them are Chinese nationals, majority of who entered the country illegally.
The convict, Nicholas Ayoma was arrested alongside two others; Stephen Alioni and Kazomi Abibu, on March 2 2016 by officials from the Natural Resource Conservation Network, Uganda Wildlife Authority and Police. The arrest followed a tip off that some people within the area were illegally keeping ivory.
The Kiryandongo District Traffic officer is in trouble for failing to deploy officers at the accident scene. Corporal Milton Tukamushaba reportedly failed to deploy officers at an accident scene on the Kigumba-Gulu Highway.
Ten houses have been burnt in a family retaliatory attack in Kigumba Sub County, Kiryandongo district. The attack followed the alleged murder of 25-year-old Bero Chan by her husband Charles Obia, who is in his 30s.
