South Sudan People’s Defence Forces (SSPDF) spokesperson Maj. Gen. Lul Ruai Koang confirmed the death of the Ugandan to Uganda Radio Network, adding that eight other passengers were injured in the attack. Among the wounded was a South Sudan National Security Service soldier who was also aboard the bus.
Balidawa told Uganda Radio Network in an interview that his action was fueled by what he alleged as targeted discrimination by a police officer for his faith as a Muslim.
Dr. Ochora was reportedly shot by a Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) soldier at about 10:20 P.m. Thursday at Kolo Police Post in Kololo Parish, Lakang Sub-County in Amuru District. He succumbed to the bullet injury at around 2 am according to security reports.
