Bowman John Opio, a teacher at Atocon primary school told Uganda Radio Network in an interview that the children were asleep in a grass thatched hut when the incident happened.
A year after a lightning strike that claimed 19 young lives at Runyanya Primary School, a follow up report indicates the school and community are still coming to terms with the tragedy. Survivors have returned to the school.
The 7:30pm incident occurred when some people were attending a baptism class at the church in Barpii village, Barowo parish Alito Sub County in Kole district.
