Nsobya says that Uganda is threatened by ADF remnants both within the country and abroad who are regrouping and plotting to launch violent attacks on unsuspecting civilians. Nsobya has said this during a sensitization meeting on the dangers of terrorism held at the Iganga district headquarters on Friday.
According to the Kigezi region police spokesperson, Elly Maate, Tukamushaba while armed with a panga attempted to access Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge in Rubuguri town council where Byaruhanga had been deployed to guard.
The detective says based on the nature of the wound, CID is considering two possibilities on where the bullet came from. The possibilities are either shooting by a colleague from close range or by a sniper from Parliamentary Avenue.
Dr. Benon M. Mutambi, the Internal Affairs Ministry Permanent Secretary, said they had expected over 50 officers to attend the training but majority of them dropped out leaving the 22 officers. She said the minister will redeploy the officers since they have acquired extra skills, which should be utilized.
