As Kalangala gears up to host national World Tourism Day celebrations, several major attractions remain neglected. On September 27, Uganda will join the rest of the world to mark World Tourism Day. The event will be hosted in Kalangala one of the emerging tourism destinations in the country.
Through the competition, members of the public are invited to submit entries that will visualize and explain the meaning of the pearl of Africa as well as the opportunities that exist for tourists. The winning submission will win UGX 10 Million.
Uganda Olympics Gold Medalist Stephen Kiprotich on Friday graced Jinja Town during the celebrations to mark the World Tourism Day for Jinja district. The colourful ceremony was held at the Jinja Crested Crane Hotel. Kiprotich, who presided over the ceremony as chief guest, described Jinja as his favourite Ugandan town.
