Sources in the university say employees from the Estates and Works Department accessed Kitumba’s residence on Monday evening under the instruction of the acting Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor William Bazeyo and removed the water and electricity meters effectively cutting off supply.
Eng. Christina Kakeeto, the Estates Director says the test results indicate that the building was not damaged by the fire and that it is still habitable. She is optimistic that ongoing renovation works will be concluded by the end of July to reopen full occupancy of the hall to students.
