Byaruhanga noted that Police has preferred a case of child abuse against Kayiza and her girlfriend Sserumaga whereas the mother is being hunted over desertion.
Savannah Regional Police Spokesperson Paul Kangave says that the children were rescued by police from a caretaker identified as Olivia Sserumaga, under whose custody; they had been left by their father Ivan Kayiza. Sserumaga was also arrested for aiding crime.
