Statistics from the district health, education, probation and social welfare departments show that from January to November 2021 1,264 young girls aged between 3 and 17years are reported defiled in the district.

According to Akello, the cases of witchcraft are common in Kagadi town council, Rugashali, Pacwa, Nyabutanzi, Mpeefu, Muhorro, Kinyarugonjo, Mabaale, Kyaterekera, Kiryanga and Muhorro Sub counties among others.

Dressed up in the recommended personal protective equipment, the team takes between two to three hours administering treatment to the patients. These treatments are administered twice a day.

According to the breakdown, 20 cases were reported in Kibaale, 34 in Kiryandongo, 16 in Buliisa, 21 in Kakumiro, 22 in Masindi, 20 in Hoima, 27 in Kikuube and 31 in Kagadi.

In January alone the Neonatal unit received 52 preterm babies admitted to the unit. Of these 43 survived while nine died, according to Constance Katusiime, the officer in charge of the unit. By today, the records show that 18 premature babies have been admitted in the intensive care unit during the month of February.

Samuel Kyambadde, an activist under Kalangala Human Rights Defenders, says they have reported 29 cases of domestic violence directed at men on different landing sites in Mugoye Sub County but none has been investigated by police.

The Centre which comprises of offices for the Resident State Attorney, police station and court premises for the Chief Magistrate and Grade One Magistrate will cost one billion shillings and is to be funded under the Justice, Low and Order Sector JLOS.

Theodore Ssekikubo says these are contemptuous court cases that are only intended to disrupt his concentration in parliament.
