According to Masaka Regional Police Spokesperson Muhamad Nsubuga, the deceased has been identified as Lydia Nakabubi. She is from the same family that lost three members in the accident, which claimed 14 lives on the spot, on Thursday morning.
According to Masaka regional police commander, Godfrey Mwesigye police has so far managed to identify two people and is still struggling to get identities of other people because they did not have identification documents.
The incident occurred at Nakasozi village Kinuka Sub County in Lyantonde district at about 2 am on Friday Morning when unknown gunmen shot dead three people dead Justus Ssendege, his wife Evelyn Naleba and Robert Mubiru.
The deceased is identified as Mathias Mawanda, a reserve force officer attached to Masaka Town Reserve Force Office. According to the fuel station manager Pauline Birabwa, the guard’s body was found dumped behind one of the cars that were parked at the fuel station during the time of the attack.
Nalubega who is also a saloon operators says that she was attacked and put on gunpoint by the robbers and in the process of fighting back she was shot in the arm before surrendering the bag which contained the money.
