Uthman Ssegawa, the PPDA acting executive director, told reporters in Kampala on Thursday that the gowns procurement was below 1 billion shillings which means it should have gone to local manufacturers.
He was appointed Monday by the PPDA board after serving in acting capacity for two years. Turamye replaces Cornelia Sabiiti, who left the authority in 2017. A statement from PPDA indicates that Turamye brings on board a cumulative experience of 28 years in public service 15 of which have been at PPDA.
The agencies are Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA), Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA), National Information Technology Authority Uganda, Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), National social security fund, Ministry of Finance, planning and economic development, ministry of water and environment, Mpigi district local government, and Jinja district local government.
