Maj. Gen Jim Muhwezi, the Rujumbura Member of Parliament has replaced Gen Ely Tumwine- who has been serving as Security Minister since 2018. For the position of Minister for General Duties in the Prime Minister’s Office, the former NRM Secretary General, Justine Kasule Lumumba, has replaced Mary Karoro Okurut.

In a statement issued this morning, the Senior Health Ministry Publicist, Emmanuel Ainebyoona, says no single COVID-19 case has been registered in the country. He also clarifies that the Health Ministry surveillance teams received an alert from Royal Complex on Friday of a lady suspected to have COVID-19 infection.
Despite scoring highly, the search committee, declined to recommend Professor Moses Joloba for appointment on grounds that there were several complaints against him. Muhakanzi said there is no money to manage the Corona Virus emergency once it reaches the country. Although, Aceng doesn’t mention when the drugs will be delivered, she says the country remains at risk of infection even as there are no active cases, adding that this is the reason they are considering all interventions including treatment, vaccination and screening at the various border points.
Dr. Katumba Ssentongo, the Registrar Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council, says there is need for the Health and Education Ministries to prioritize the training of dentistry at both the under graduate and post graduate levels in order to provide quality dental services in the country
Addressing journalists at their party headquarters on Tuesday, the Jeema party spokesperson, Abdu-Noor Ssentongo Kyamundu, said there is need for government to increase funding to the three sectors. He said for instance government should allocate at least 10% of the budget to Agriculture because it employs more than 80% of Ugandans.
