Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police spokesperson identifies the deceased as 27-year-old James Eyangu, the former president of Makerere College of Veterinary Medicine. He graduated on Wednesday in Biomedical Laboratory Technology.
According to health experts, at least five percent of the persons that have moderate to severe forms of the disease end up in need of a ventilator because they cannot breathe since their lungs are immersed in the fluid.

There has been unrest at Kyambogo University for the past two days leading to running battles between Police, Local Defense Unit (LDU) and students pushing for the reinstatement of their guild president, Jonathan Tundulu. It all started the Guild Representative Council (GRC) impeached Tundulu citing lack of leadership skills and disrespectful character.
Iteu, who is a Senior Registrar in the ICT unit of the Academic Registrar at Makerere University was declared winner with 182 votes against Dr Euzobia Baine Mugisha’s 82. This is out of the overall 267 ballots cast.
The university also faults Dr Kamunyu for using abusive language, insults and verbal exchanges allegedly aimed at intimidating the University officials who were in charge of preparations for the inaugural Council meeting scheduled for December 20, 2018. The act contradicts provisions of the Makerere University Human Resource Manual.
