"Police have observed a consistent pattern in these crimes, where bus passengers are being sedated and robbed of their valuables. Basikana was drugged on the Jaguar bus and is now receiving treatment in hospital," Kituuma said during the weekly security press briefing at the Naguru Police Headquarters.
According to the FSU, these suspects, arrested in areas such as Ndeeba, Mukono, Kalerwe, Kawempe, and Bunamwaya, have conducted more than 10 vehicle robberies in the last five weeks. Some vehicle owners were left nursing injuries due to these thugs' actions.
“Whereas the protest is purely business and tax related, what our intelligence is gathering is that some politicians are trying to hijack the concerns from the business community to turn them into a countrywide civil uprising,” said Enanga.
