Court presided over by Doreen Kayoo, the Hoima Grade one Magistrate on Tuesday evening heard that, Asaba, together with others still at large planned, plotted and murdered Katusabe, a mathematics teacher at Bwikya Muslim secondary school on October 11, 2024. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. when Katusabe had just returned from Hoima town.
The suspects are Bruno Ddamulira and Gladys Nakalyango, both directors of Spring of Wisdom Primary school in Kiboga district; the deceased are Noeline Nabonje 26 a teacher at Spring of Wisdom Primary school and her one year old child Jonan Gayel.
According to reports, the teacher accused Matsika of failing to achieve a passing grade in a biology examination administered to the senior four class. It is alleged that the teacher repeatedly whipped the student, causing her to collapse.
Fred Mwebe,29, who turned up to inquire about the procedure at Kitante Primary School center vaccination center told URN that 22 out of the 29 teachers at Green Valley Junior School, Kalerwe travelled to their home towns when the president announced the lockdown. He says that they have failed to reach some of the teachers on their known mobile telephone numbers.
Byaruhanga says that Kato collapsed while chatting a fellow teacher. He was rushed to Masindi Kitara Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly on arrival.
