The decision to dismiss Tumutegyereize was reached in the 587th University Appointments Board meeting. A copy of the board minutes, which URN has seen show that Tumutegyereize was found guilty of non-adherence to University policies after he failed to complete his PhD program in time, contrary to the Human Resource Manual of 2009.
Muhumuza asked to step down from the case filed by Dr. Denis Asiimwe Katebire, formerly an assistant lecturer at Makerere Law School’s Public Interest Law Clinic-PILAC while appearing before the Justice Patrick Tabaro-led Staff Appeals Tribunal on Wednesday to represent the University.
Prossy Katongole Kyazze, the secretary to the Students Disciplinary Committee of Makerere University says hearing of all cases has been cancelled to allow the graduation ceremonies to proceed.

According to the charge sheet, the university accuses Saasiraabo of registration number 17/U/9897/EVE of circulating inflammatory messages on social media calling for defiance and disruption of university activities contrary to students’ regulations.
