According to police preliminary findings, the victim, was reportedly starved for days, beaten whenever she complained to her father, and even allegedly burnt.
The presence of investors in the mining sector in the region is providing local development benefits commonly associated with large-scale businesses like creating employment, growth of Infrastructures, widening the tax base, and social transformation among others.

The allegations first emerged when activist and cartoonist Jim Spire Ssentongo shared a post on X (formerly Twitter), claiming that some protesters who had been released reported being sodomized and physically assaulted by police officers during their detention last week.

Titled "Wakiso District Huma Rights Situation Report" under the theme ‘Promoting human rights, advancing freedoms for communities in Wakiso', the report notes existing gaps in the realization and enjoyment of fundamental rights and freedoms within local communities in the district.
The cases included the violation of rights to personal liberty for persons detained beyond 48 hours, violation of the right to freedom from torture, cruel, inhumane and degrading treatment and punishment and violation of the right to life.
